our community

Christ Lutheran Church has been rooted in Lakewood since 1958, placed by God in a uniquely diverse community and one of the most unchurched regions of our country. From the beginning, our calling has been clear: to share the good news of Jesus Christ in both word and action so that all people may come to know and follow Him.

One of our closest neighbors is Joint Base Lewis–McChord, and we give thanks for the ministry of military chaplains who serve there. We also believe God has given our congregation a particular calling to connect with and support the military community in our midst.

We are now in a season of transition as we begin the process of calling our next pastor. Guided by prayer and the Holy Spirit, our leadership and Call Committee are discerning who God is preparing to lead us into the next chapter of ministry. We invite you to keep this process in your prayers and to join us in trusting God’s direction for our congregation and community.
